The Oolloo Farm will be at the forefront of pioneering the growth of low THC industrial hemp production in the NT.
Making good on his intent to “develop ambitious plans for the industrial hemp sector in the region”, the Managing Director of the Caason Group, the parent entity of Ti Tree Food & Fodder Pty Ltd, confirmed that they have been successful in their efforts to be granted a low THC Industrial Hemp Licence. “The fact that the Oolloo Farm is one of a few properties in the region that produces irrigated crops, makes our goals realistic” said Mr. Astill.
The recent acquisition of the Oolloo Farm in the Northern Territory, signalled the groups intentions to develop new crops and apply significant knowledge through a focus on Innovation/R&D.
The land extent of 1,047 hectares, the existing infrastructure at Oolloo Farm and six centre pivots to support an existing 1,000 megalitre per year water extraction licence, will allow for commercial production of low THC industrial hemp. Mr. Astill was in particular upbeat about these latest developments, explaining that the licence allows them to explore further commercial collaborations with existing Caason Group networks within the industry.
